If all printers were determined not to print anything till they were sure it would offend nobody, there would be very little printed

Vice-president Dick “Christian values” Cheney teaches America and the distinguished Senator Patrick Leahy a lesson in how to use the f-bomb,

According to congressional aides, [Sen. Patrick] Leahy said hello to Cheney following the taking of the Senate group photo on the floor of the chamber.

Cheney, who is president of the Senate, then ripped into Leahy for the Democratic senator’s criticism this week of alleged war profiteering in Iraq by Halliburton, the oil services company that Cheney once ran.

….During their exchange, Leahy noted that Republicans had accused Democrats of being anti-Catholic because they are opposed to some of President Bush’s anti-abortion judges, the aides said.

That’s when Cheney unloaded with the “F-bomb,” aides said.

Amanda Marcotte like Dick Cheney has also exercised her first amendment rights to free speech.
The queen of the right-wing net hate machine and also a spokesperson for supposed family values Michelle Malkin has also been known to hold some pretty strong and deviate opinions, Malkin, writer of “mean-spirited rantings,” accused Edwards bloggers of “foul-mouthed nutroots diatribes”

Malkin advocated racial profiling; defended the internment of Japanese-Americans (and other ethnic minorities) during World War II; and called for the removal of then-Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta, claiming that he couldn’t be objective on the issue of racial profiling because of his personal experience as an interned Japanese-American.In her March 29, 2006, nationally syndicated column, Malkin referred to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and then-California Lt. Gov. Cruz M. Bustamante — both Democrats — as “Latino supremacists.”

On the March 30, 2006, edition of Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor, Malkin declared that Latinos protesting a House bill aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration believe in “reconquista,” or the theory that “the American Southwest belongs to Mexico” — which, in the words of one writer, “aren’t, for the most part, ideas held by Mexicans: they’re ideas held by white supremacists and neo-Nazis.”

On the June 1, 2006, edition of Fox News’ The Big Story with John Gibson, Malkin blasted the media coverage of alleged killings of Iraqi civilians by U.S. troops in Haditha, claiming that there are “puddles of drool in the offices of the L.A. Times and The New York Times.” (Indictments have been issued in the story Malkin references which included the murder of children)

Malkin is also associated with VDARE a white supremacist organization. Malkin has already made her picture a perfect candidate for placement under the word hypocrite in a pictionary. If Malkin and and other members of the right-wing fringe want to foam at the mouth that is their right, but yet again we’ve got people that defended caricatures of Mohammad till they were red in the face, yet would deny Amanda the right to express her views or at least have her fired for expressing them.

William Donohue an extreme right-wing Catholic conservative and critic of M’s Marcotte has been known let fly some free speech, Donohue: Other People Bad, in General, Actors, Jews and Muslims, in Particular

“Hollywood is controlled by secular Jews who hate Christianity, in general, and Catholicism, in particular. It’s not a secret, okay? I’m not afraid to say it.

[…]

Hollywood likes anal sex. They would like to see, uh, the public square without nativity scenes. I like — I like families. I like children. They like abortions.” [Full quote here]

This program is showing on HBO this month and the participants are mostly Catholics that document the abuse by clergy, Celibacy. Whether Catholicism or any religion is innately wrong is a subject for debate, but what is not up for debate is the centuries of institutionalized cruelty by many organized religions. Donohue’s holier then thou act comes off as just old fashioned utter delusion and hypocrisy when you look at the history of the Catholic church. Amanda’s language might not be for the faint of heart, but she has only made observations that have been echoed for centuries by others. Moran at the ABC link asked if liberals would have been upset if she had made similar remarks about Muslims and the answer to that is she has. She has written about the repression of women under Islam and about the Right’s hypocrisy in that regard.

Since its Wednesday and the Right has all the sudden decided that being rational civil adults is today’s buzzword then here is a nice civil editorial by a Catholic coincidentally about CNN”s million dollar right-wing baby Glenn Beck and his clones, Glenn Beck: A Cause for Concern

The result of this trend is evident on a number of levels. There has been a coarsening and dumbing down of our political discourse on several issues of national importance. When Beck refers to President Carter as a “fathead” or speaks of Saudi leaders as “nut-jobs,” serious discussion is displaced by crude and demeaning jabs.

There is the additional problem that instead of educating the public, this new breed of television pundits reduces issues to their lowest common denominator, thereby reinforcing preexisting, uninformed biases. Never shy to share an unenlightened view, Beck, for example, will note “I’m not an expert, but…” and then proceed to make his case using a mishmash of clichés that reflect the prejudices of conventional wisdom.

Russert contradicts Libby’s testimony

Russert, the host of “Meet the Press,” testified about a July 2003 phone call in which Libby complained about a colleague’s coverage. Libby has said that, at the end of the call, Russert brought up war critic Joseph Wilson and mentioned that Wilson’s wife worked for the CIA.

“That would be impossible,” Russert testified Wednesday. “I didn’t know who that person was until several days later.”

That discrepancy is at the heart of Libby’s perjury and obstruction trial. He is accused of lying to investigators about his conversations with reporters regarding Wilson’s wife, CIA operative Valerie Plame.

Looks like Libby is going down in flames. Too bad we can’t get the entire administration under oath. Cheney’s Son-In-Law Blamed for Delaying Investigations of Homeland Security Department. Let us bow our heads and get our priorities straight, Amanda’s rants trump getting America’s sons and daughters killed based on lies and the rabid Right’s ineptitude when it comes to governing doesn’t matter in the least when the media can dig up some piffling nonsense about a Democratic presidential candidate and one of his bloggers.
