Equalizer Jazz wallpaper – They Love The Misery of Others and They’re Organized

There is no secret smiley-faced fascist movement to destroy an American government that is by and for the people. On the contrary the Right, the conservative movement, is pretty brazen about their goals. As is typical of the various brands of authoritarianism modern Republicans are distinguished by their desire to weaken the Constitutional guarantees set forth in the Bill of Rights – for everyone but them. The Right also displays an inordinate amount of pleasure in the suffering of others, the celebration of schadenfreude – from trumped-up wars to torture to someone getting kicked out of their home to a firefighter taking a pay cut and children denied a good education. What is authoritarianism without power. Conservative economic policies from Regan to Clinton and GW redistributed most income and property to the top one percent. In the USA money is power. The conservative media has power, but it mostly exists to protect and promote the plutocracy. While Europe’s far left of the early 20th Century engaged in its share of eliminationism, eliminationism is the gold standard of American conservatism from the pro-slavery element of the Antebellum south to modern-day conservative homophobes and immigrant boogeyman bed-wetters. They may seem like a big barrel of crazy, but the Right is organized. DeVos, Koch, Scaife, Walton, ALEC, AFC: The Corporate Royalists and Right-Wing Groups Propelling the GOP’s Assault on the Middle Class

AFC is ramrodded by Betsy DeVos, whose right-wing bona fides are rock solid. Raised in the wealthy, ueber-conservative Prince family (her brother is Erik Prince, founder of Blackwater, the infamous private war corporation), she married Dick (son of Richard) and has been a major donor/fundraiser for the GOP, for religious-right political groups, and for a national web of school privatizers. Also, she and the larger DeVos klan are longtime co-conspirators in and co-funders of the Koch brothers’ plutocratic political network. [Bonus tidbit: The DeVoses reportedly helped finance the Citizens United case that the Supreme Court used last year to unleash secret, unlimited corporate money on our elections.]  ( note: quote from DeVos on the money she directs towards Republicans – “”We expect a return on our investment.”)

[  ]…”With nearly 2,000 members” explains a brochure of this secretive organization, “ALEC( AMERICAN LEGISLATIVE EXCHANGE COUNCIL) is the nation’s largest nonpartisan, individual membership association of state legislators.” Maybe your very own local lawmaker is one of them–but you won’t get that information from ALEC, which hides its list of legislators from public view.

Which brings us to the organization’s pose as an association of legislators. The “exchange” in ALEC’s name is not between lawmakers, but between lawmakers and such behind-the-scenes powers as Altria, AT&T, Bayer, Coca-Cola, ExxonMobil, GlaxoSmithKline, Intuit, Johnson & Johnson, Koch Industries, Kraft Foods, Peabody Energy, Pfizer, Reynolds American, State Farm Insurance, UPS, and Walmart. These giants form ALEC’s “private enterprise board,” and they are among the self-interested corporations that put up its money and shape its agenda. ( note: very little legislation at the state or federal level does not have ALEC’s finger prints on it, especially if the bill originated with a Republican. Not a secret. No Glenn Beck-ian conspiracy laden rants required)

[   ]…Today, the bands of nouveau corporate royalists (with coats of arms bearing such names as Coors, DeVos, Koch, Scaife, and Walton) are determined to take back those middle-class gains of yesteryear. They are working to achieve this through a coordinated, long-term campaign to (1) crush the ability of working people to unionize, (2) bust America’s middle-class wage structure, (3) eliminate job security, and (4) emasculate government as a force capable of controlling corporate avarice and arrogance.

These latter-day royalists are employing a more sophisticated thuggery than brute force (though don’t think they wouldn’t resort to it). Instead, their goons are more likely to be in Gucci’s than brogans, using dollars and computers rather than clubs and guns.

While there are exceptions – Lone Wolves: A Recent History of Violent Right-Wing Extremism – the modern Right are not exact reincarnations of Germany or Italy’s fascists. Why bother with the jack boots, the internment camps, the street riots, the general thuggery when all that is obviously required is to strip the average US citizen of their economic power. Many Americans of modest to average means are perfectly willing to not only fall in line, but to help dis-empower themselves. The tea bagger conservatives are a fairly good example – The NYT tea party profile: old white dudes with money who think poor people and black folks are getting over. They want and think they deserve their Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment benefits, workman’s compensation, public worker pension plan, veteran’s health benefits – they just don’t think that person over there deserves it. With such willing toadies in economic classes – low middle to middle-class, that should avoid conservatism like the plaque, there is no need to have black shirted patrols. They use draconian laws irregardless constitutionality, to accomplish what the brown and blackshirts used to do.

Speaking of eliminationism. Do not combine with bed-wetting as the stench is both overwhelming and silly, Rand Paul Worried Legal Immigrant Students Will Attack Us. Rando recently advocated arresting anyone at a “radical” political rally. He has yet to arrest himself.

Don’t ya hate when that happens, God Caught Backing Multiple GOP Candidates for President

Cain(Herman) has also heard from God more directly, as he told a tea party rally in April:

Cain told the crowd about his battle with cancer in 2006, saying he’s been “totally cancer free” for the past five years.

“You want to know why? God said, ‘Not yet Herman,'” Cain told the crowd. “God said, ‘Not yet. I’ve got something else for you to do.’ And it might be to become the president of the United States of America.”

[  ]…As Karen Santorum told CBN’s David Brody in May about her husband’s(Rick) decision to run for president, “It really boils down to God’s will. What is it that God wants? … We have prayed a lot about this decision, and we believe with all our hearts that this is what God wants.”

[  ]…”If I felt that’s what the Lord was calling me to do, I would do it,” she(Michele Bachmann) answered. “When I have sensed that the Lord is calling me to do something, I’ve said yes to it. But I will not seek a higher office if God is not calling me to do it. That’s really my standard.

“If I am called to serve in that realm I would serve,” she concluded, “but if I am not called, I wouldn’t do it.”

Apparently God likes to play tricks with right-wing egos and delusions. Bush 43 said God told him to invade Iraq. Maybe the god the Right listens to is calling with a phone made of two tin cans and some string. Might be time to get the inflated egotism out of their ears, they might get a clearer moral message.

Limbaugh asks me what it’s like to live in a dreamworld. I bring up Oxycontin. (now w/audio link)

Rush:  You are so wrong.  The stimulus wasn’t 1/3 tax cuts.  Do you really believe the government can spend money better than the private sector?

John Stewart made the claim that the stimulus – the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act – was composed of 1/3 tax cuts. Politifact checked out the numbers and found the stimulus was 28% tax cuts. Stewart and normal people mostly right, Limbaugh the draft dodging addict would be mostly wrong.  This is meritocracy Republican style. Limbaugh is typically mostly or completely wrong, and is rewarded in the millions for dispensing his twisted punditry. As long as I’m tearing down right-wing demigods, The Great Tax Cutter? Obama, Not Reagan.

“Boondoggle”: Fox News Derides Vital Manufacturing Jobs Initiative. Fox and Michelle Malkin seem to take a perverse pride in knowing squat.
